About Doggone Good Coffee

After being laid off from my dream job in April 2024, I spent ten months navigating a relentless cycle of interviews and rejections. Faced with a closed door, I decided to build my own—and Doggone Good Coffee was born right here in my hometown of Abilene, Texas.

But the heart of this business truly formed on Christmas night, when my recently adopted Siberian Husky, Kula, went missing. She had jumped a fence at her sitter's house while I was visiting family in Alabama. I immediately drove 1,000 miles back to Abilene to begin the search.

For two days, I searched every street in town alongside a stranger from Facebook—the only person who stepped up to help me in person. His unwavering positive attitude kept me going when I felt defeated. Late on the third night, we finally found her; Kula had been safely picked up by a neighbor near the sitter’s house shortly after she escaped.

The moment Kula was returned to me was the first time I had smiled in days.

I started this venture to create my own path to financial security, but also to honor the kindness of those who helped me when I was most vulnerable. That is why 10% of all revenue is donated to local efforts that help reunite lost dogs with their families. When you book us, you aren't just getting great coffee—you're helping bring dogs like Kula back home.
